Thank you so much for coming to Back-to-School Night even with the threatening weather! I know there was a lot of information. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail or call me.

I have created a few photo albums on my teacher page. You can access my page through the "community". I will continue to post photos and create albums throughout the year. So, check my page often for pictures of your adorable children! You will feel like a "bug on the wall" of our busy classroom!

Writer's Workshop is proving to be a favorite time of the day in our classroom. Below is a picture of the children writing stories about their summer vacations. Check out E-bytes this week - Shannon is pictured sharing her story during our Writer's Workshop Share.

What a Great Week!

We had a great first week of first grade! It was fun to see "old" friends and to make "new" ones! The children are learning the routines of first grade and have already begun to blossom. They are "thinking" and "acting" like first graders! They have already brought many smiles to my face in just three days!:)

It was a busy week! We worked in our new math books, played math games, worked on the computer, read many books, launched our writer's workshop, practiced fire and severe weather drills, played on the playground, had PE and music class, and even took a practice spelling test! Whew! That was just the beginning! Next week will be even busier! The smiles on the children's faces, the hugs, and hearing "I just knew first grade was going to be full of fun things" made my week! Thank you so much for sharing your precious children with me!

This week's important dates:

Spirit Day! Wednesday, August 26th - Your child may wear Charger spirit wear.
Back-to-School-Night! Thursday, August 27th - I will see you at 7:00 in the theater.
